Skin cancer: Skin cancer is the uncontrolled development of abnormal skin cells. This occurs when skin cells induce unprotected DNA damage (often due to ultraviolet radiation from the sun or tanning bed), or genetic defects, which inspire skin cells to multiply rapidly and make malignant tumors.

Treatment Options for Skin Cancer:                                                   Before spreading, most skin cancers are detected and cured.

There are various effective way of treating skin cancer. The choice of therapy depends on the location and size of the tumor, the microscopic characteristics of cancer, and the general health
of the patient.

Topical medicines:
In the case of superficial basal cell carcinoma, some creams, gels, and solutions can be used with Imiquimod (Aldara), It works by stimulating the immune system which produces interferon and attacks the cancer cell.

 Surgical excision:
The area around the tumor is counted with the local anesthetic. A football-shaped portion of tissue with tumors is removed and then the edges of the wound are closed. For very large tumors, skin grafts or flaps are required to close the defect. The benefits of this form of treatment are that there is more than 90% of cure rate, a surgical sample can be tested to check that the entire tumor has been successfully removed, the marks process are usually more Acceptable than the EDC. This is a complex process and is more expensive than EDC.

Mohs Micrographic Surgery:
The site is locally anesthetized and the surgeon removes visible tumors with a small margin of normal tissue. The tissue is immediately evaluated under a microscope and areas that exhibit residual microscopic tumor involvement are reproduced and the margin is again examined.
This cycle continues until no further tumor is seen. This is a more complicated and costly alternative treatment for tumors where general tissue protection is important.

Radiation Therapy:
Ten to fifteen treatment sessions provide high doses of radiation in the tumor and a small surrounding skin area. This form of treatment is useful in those who are not candidates for any surgical procedure. The advantage of radiation therapy is that there is no cutting in it. The disadvantage of this expensive option is that the field of treatment cannot be tested to ensure that the entire tumor is over and the scars of radiation look bad over time. For this reason, it is usually reserved for elderly patients.
