  • This indicates a rapid decrease in kidney function due to various factors including, Septicemia (blood infection), urinary tract diseases, ingestion of harmful substances, as drug side effects, or overdosing medicine.
  •  Acute kidney failure may also be a side effect of another condition. In these cases, if the condition is treated immediately, then the chances of the kidney being restored in its earlier state are more likely.
2. Chronic Kidney Failure -

  • It refers to the gradual deterioration of the kidneys over time. The main reason for this type of kidney failure is diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, and other conditions, which can take up to one year to present any symptoms like inflammation of the kidney or polycystic kidney disease.
  • Most patients have diagnosed with only this condition when their kidney function is greatly reduced, resulting in kidney failure. In these cases, the treatment is unable to restore the kidney to their former condition.
